I would like to nominate one of my SEN TA’s.
Her name is Charlotte Bagnall and always goes the extra mile for her students. Charlotte breathes extra life into all classroom activities and nothing is too much trouble for her.
During lockdown she was able to continue to engage her students using technology as well as the usual phone and text. She even helped support students from other centres in the region and kept them engaged and ready to return to centre once lockdown eased. This support was crucial in the students mental health, confidence and self-esteem, helping to make sure they did not feel forgotten about.
Charlotte has excellent rapports with all her students and their families to ensure they are all kept fully informed of the progress being made. She also goes the extra mile and provides strong emotional support for those who are struggling, providing a caring ear and signposting/referrals where appropriate.
Her learners have excellent attendance and really thrive, knowing that she is always there with a big smile and a genuine helping hand.
