A day for Teaching Assistants
Classroom support staff deserve to be celebrated. It’s time for a party.
#NationalTADay

What is National Teaching Assistants’ Day?
National Teaching Assistants’ Day is an awareness day taking place on 16 September. Schools across the UK celebrate their own TAs and nominate their favourites for our Teaching Assistant of the Year award.
Why was the awareness day created?
Teaching Personnel created National Teaching Assistants’ Day in 2012 after realising something was amiss. The calendar was full of red letter awareness days for all varieties of causes in education.
Yet nobody had given much thought to the unglamorous yet vital work that teaching assistants do in our classrooms every day. The time was ripe for TAs to get in on the fun too.

TA of the Year competition
Think of that teaching assistant working in your school who always goes the extra mile. No matter how hard things get, they put the pupils first.
16 September is your chance to show them you appreciate what they do.
